– seeing – ending – asking – devoted – received – texting – going – controlled – managing – selling – closing – chalked up – changed – moving – noticed – wringing – attributing – exciting – entrenched rewarding – e-mailing hyperventilating
Mountains do move

I’m sure you’ve __________ the hand ___________ and ______________ about change out there. For more than a decade, there has been a whole industry ___________ to the topic, all of it _____________ pretty much the same line: change or die. Change is an absolutely critical part of business. You do need to change, preferably before you to.

What you’ve heard about resistance to change is also true. People hate it when their bosses announce a “transformation initiative”. They run back to their cubicles and frantically start ______________ or ______________ one another with reasons it’s _________ to ruin everything.

Frankly, most people hate it when they find out their favorite coffee shop is ________. The Times of London ________ to a tabloid format, and the editor told me he __________ a letter ________ him how it felt to be the person responsible for _____________ Western civilization.

People love familiarity and patterns. They cling to them. The phenomenon is so _________ it can only be ______________ up to human nature.

But ____________ a behavior to human nature doesn’t mean you have to be __________ by it. Yes, ___________ change can sometimes feel like _______ a mountain. But managing change can also be incredibly _______ and ________, particularly when you start __________results.

During my years at GE, we were in a pretty constant state of change. Most companies today are. You have to be if you want to stay in the game, let alone win.

2. Relacione as palavras do texto acima com suas definições:

1. Wringing
2.Hyperventilating
3. Entrenched
4. Chalked up
5. Cling

7. Let alone

(    )  to place in a position of strength; establish firmly or solidly.
(   ) to twist, squeeze, or compress, especially so as to extract liquid.
